The Worry Dolls

What better way to inaugurate the blog and therefore the opening of the store than to talk about these cute little dolls?
It seemed important to me to start with them because after all from a very young age we have our little worries and our needs for comfort and therefore even our little blond heads seek their share of well-being. It is something that will remain as we grow up because although we gain confidence in ourselves, we still have this need in the end. I have been able to meet adults of all ages who still need to have their "doudou" next to them. So after all, why shouldn't adults also have the right to have one of these little dolls to confide in them what is on their heart in the evening before going to bed?
This is why I think this article could help a good number of you and why it was important to me to start our stories with them. They will therefore be in the confidence of this adventure which begins for me but also for you and I am sure that you will want to adopt one of them for yourself, your children or even your loved ones.
The story of these dolls is a traditional legend and comes from the Guatemalan Mayans. Also called "eaters of sorrow," they are said to have the power to absorb our worries that we entrust to them but also to catch our nightmares. Ideal for calming our anxieties, they are therefore, as I said, perfect for children but also adults.
They have magical powers, and in Guatemala, it is traditional for everyone to have one. In the evening before going to sleep, recount all your worries and sorrows encountered during the day while holding it in your hands and imagine this negative thought going to your doll, then keep it under your pillow or right next to you. Breathe deeply and fall asleep. The doll will take your worries and you will sleep peacefully. Guatemalans give them to children who are worried and sad, so they can confide their fears to them.
They are often made of cloth, but also of wood or wire. They are covered with fabric or wool.
As you will have understood, they are therefore beneficial for emotions and stress. But also for the practice of mindfulness and the liberation ritual.
Remember, however, that you will need to regularly purify and recharge it so that it can continue to absorb your worries, sadness, and fears.
